How to use Perlite India Lightweight Concrete as Floor Fills?

In an era of sky scrapper, there’s a need to reduce the dead load of the structure, subsequently reducing the steel in the structure and subsequently reducing the cost of the structure.

AAC blocks are being used in the walls in order to reduce the weight.

However, we still use mortar (1:4 cement to sand) overlay on the slab in order to achieve levels to receive the further treatment of tiles.

The density of which is between 1700 kg/m3 to 2100 kg/m3. The average thickness is nothing less than 50mm on the slab.

With Perlite India lightweight concrete, we can reduce the density of the same by more than 50%, i.e. at 1000kg/m3 at a compressive strength of more than 5Mpa.

This not only reduces the weight of the floor screed by 50% but also gives a smooth, hard and a monolithic finish, to receive the further application of tiles.

Considering a structure of 30 floors with a floor area of about 500 sq. mtrs. one can reduce the dead load of the structure by at least 900 tons, by replacing the conventional mortar by Perlite India Lightweight floor screeds.
